Farhan's Loss Is Saif's Gain
The Bhaag Milkha Bhaag actor was the original choice for Saif-starrer Jugalbandi
After having disasters like Humshakals and Happy Ending last year, Saif Ali Khan’s career seems to be on an upward spiral. Ekta Kapoors three-film deal, which includes Sujoy Ghoshs adaptation of The Devotion Of Suspect X, and Sameer Sharmas Jugalbandi produced by Salman Khan have saved the day for the star.
But few know that Saif was not the first choice for the Being Human Films production. We hear, Sameer had originally wanted Farhan Akhtar as the lead. Unfortunately, that didnt take shape.
This, in turn, compelled the writer-director to rework the script. When he gave the modified script to Salmans production company officials for a read, they liked it and felt that Saif is apt for the role.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Saif and Farhans paths have crossed. Saif was the first choice for Reema Kagtis Mr Chaloo, which eventually went to Farhan and is now finally being done by Fawad Khan.
